Jacob E. Nutman, M.D.
Founding Doctor
Jacob E. Nutman, M.D. worked for over 15 years treating patients and families with asthma and lung disorders. He founded the practice and established a comprehensive treatment plan for children with asthma. Dr. Nutman was devoted to his patients and the practice. Patient and parent alike trusted in his gentle guidance and caring ways.
Dr. Nutman served the American Lung Association for many years promoting lung health and preventing lung disease. He was president of the Northern Regional Board in 2001 and 2002 and frequently spoke at Family Asthma Programs throughout Northern New Jersey. Dr. Nutman also volunteered as a member of the medical staff at Camp Super Kids, the American Lung Association residential camp for children with asthma.
Following a long illness, Dr. Nutman passed away on January 8, 2006. Despite his illness he worked in the office as long as his health permitted. He was energized by seeing his young patients on a daily basis.
Dr. Nutman is remembered as a friend, mentor, and extraordinary individual. His phenomenal work in establishing Summit Pediatric Pulmonology will never be forgotten by his patients or by those lucky enough to have worked with him. It was his wish and now his legacy that the practice continues as a means for providing state of the art medical care for children and families with lung disorders.
